The year has passed unbelievably quickly. NaNoWriMo 2021 is only a month away, and somehow, I’m already behind.
I changed my preparation process in 2020, trying out a new act structure breakdown, and starting preparation Labor Day weekend instead of October 1st. It was also the first year I felt like I’d worked through everything I could before November started.
This year, I was late deciding what to do (or even if I was going to do NaNoWriMo at all), but I still started on Labor Day. Except I fizzled after that. Which happens, but it’s frustrating as it means I’ll be entering October with almost no prep.
Historically, that means November gets here too quickly and I’m unprepared on Day One.
This year, that just means I’ll double down on my preparation.

Five weeks from TODAY is the first of November, and the chaos begins!
